The 'Fareham Borough Landscape Assessment' was adopted by the Borough Council as Supplementary Planning Guidance in May 1996. The report was prepared by Scott Wilson Resource Consultants and was paid for jointly by Fareham Borough Council and Hampshire County Council. The report is a rigorous 'audit' of the landscape and townscape character of the Borough written under national and county council guidelines, and is intended for use as background information when assessing the potential impact of planning applications on the character of any particular locality, and when looking at priorities for enhancement. It supplements Policies DG3, DG4, DG5, C1, C3, C5, C9, C10 and H3 of the Fareham Borough Local Plan Review.
