Use of AI in Job Applications

Whilst Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help streamline the writing process, relying solely on AI to write your application or supporting statement is not encouraged by Fareham Borough Council. AI-generated responses are often generic and impersonal and potentially contain false or misleading information, which may not accurately reflect your skills, knowledge, qualifications, and experiences.

Your application and supporting statement are your opportunity to showcase who you are and how you meet the criteria outlined in the Job Details. To increase your chances of being invited for interview, share work-related successes and challenges that demonstrate how you meet the criteria, and provide examples of how you've applied your skills and knowledge in real-life situations. These could be from various aspects of your life, including work, education, and personal experience.

AI tools cannot fully grasp the context or requirements of the role you are applying for, so responses may lack relevance and fail to address the key requirements outlined in the Job Details. Too much reliance on their use could negatively impact your success in the application process.
