A number of Community Action Team (CAT) meetings took place at the time alongside Exhibitions in Fareham Borough. The reason for the consultation was to ask for residents' views on where in the borough the 520 new houses which the Government had updated as the housing target for Fareham could be placed. The earlier Local Plan does not provide enough space for this and that is why a number of issues and options needed to be considered.

Fareham Borough Council held Exhibitions and Community Action Team (CAT) meetings during October and November about the review of the Borough's Draft Local Plan 2036 by attending the CAT meetings and Exhibitions.
The Local Plan looks at housing, employment space, and places where retail and leisure facilities should be provided. It also earmarks areas to be protected, such as countryside, community and leisure buildings, and open spaces.
At the exhibitions and meetings residents have found out about proposals for the local area and had the opportunity to speak directly to planning officers and Councillors. Exhibitions took place before each CAT meeting from 2-6pm.
