Authority Monitoring Report

Local planning authorities are required to prepare a Monitoring Report by the Localism Act 2011.

The purpose of Monitoring Reports is to report on:

  • Progress of Local Development Documents (LDDs) against the timetable in the Local Development Scheme (LDS)
  • Housing land supply and housing completions
  • Employment and retail floorspace completions
  • The application of Local Plan policies.

The Council has historically published an Annual Monitoring Report at the end of every calendar year, which reports on the most recent complete financial year.

It should be noted that the AMR does not represent new planning policy, but is a monitoring report which provides information on past performance against existing Local Plan targets, including these relating to housing delivery.
