From Hookgate Coppice car park turn left on to Hook Lane. Continue carefully along this road until, shortly after you pass the turning for Little Abshot Road, there is a kissing gate on the left hand side of Hook Lane, leading to a path through a strip of woodland.
Follow this path through the trees until it brings you out on a rough track, where you should turn right. Follow the track round the edge of the fields, through a series of bends, until it brings you out on Chilling Lane. (Short cut: Turn right into Chilling Lane and follow this route round to the right into Hook Lane. Continue carefully along this road until you see the Hookgate Coppice car park to your right).
Turn left and follow Chilling Lane southwards until you reach a ninety degree bend to the left. Take this bend then continue straight ahead, ignoring the right hand route. You should be on a rough track running between fields. Continue on this track, past Chilling Copse on your left, until the track begins to turn to the right.
On this corner you will see an entrance on the left to a footpath. Follow this path, which runs along the boundary of fields and woods. You will eventually come to a track leading off to the left. Ignore this track - directly ahead of you there is a footpath running between fields. Take this path which will lead you straight back to the car park.
From M27 Junction 9 follow signs for the A27. You will quickly reach a large roundabout. Take the turning for the A27 East, towards Fareham. At the first roundabout take the second right into Warsash Road. Follow the road round to the left at the roundabout. Shortly after a bend to the right you will see a turning for Hook Lane on your left. Just down Hook Lane to your left you will find the Hookgate Coppice car park.
The Jolly Farmer, Fleet End Road. From Hookgate Coppice turn left into Hook Lane and follow this road until you see a narrow turning between houses to the right. Take this turning for Fleet End Road, and follow this road through a series of bends until you come across The Jolly Farmer on your right hand side.
