Council launches new business website to mark a decade at Daedalus

Fareham Borough Council has launched a new business website www.atdaedalus.co.uk for the Daedalus site ten years after taking ownership. Two new videos have also been created to mark this significant milestone.

The Council’s new Daedalus website will feature news and updates for the whole site including opportunities for businesses seeking new premises. The first video shows how Daedalus has progressed over the last ten years under the Council’s ownership; the second focuses on the business community and the value of the site to some of the businesses that are based there.

Cllr Simon Martin, Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said:

"It is really heartening to see what we have achieved at Daedalus in a relatively short space of time. This is Fareham’s largest dedicated employment site and the number of people working there has been growing steadily over the last decade and very much living up to our high expectations.

"At the same time, we have also remembered the importance of Daedalus to our local community. The viewing area and café are both often very busy with people enjoying watching the aircraft, the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Park is a really good recreational space with pathways for cyclists and pedestrians and well-used by dog walkers. The park also features a viewing point that looks right down the runway, and we have the children’s airport-themed play area on the Gosport Road.

"With all that said we are still very much on a journey towards ensuring Daedalus achieves its true potential. I would encourage anyone that is interested to follow our new website to keep up with the latest developments."
