Council’s big present to Fareham residents

Fareham Borough Council was delighted to launch its new Christmas light display in Fareham Town Centre on Saturday 18 November.

Despite having to significantly reduce its Christmas Lights Switch On event, due to a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and high winds, the Council was still able to put on a show and thousands of people turned out to watch the lights go on.

One of the main highlights in this year’s display is the giant illuminated Christmas present underneath the Performance Podium in Fareham West Street, sponsored by Snows Toyota. That’s why Fareham Borough Council is launching a Christmas competition to give one lucky family a big present of their own.

Running from today until 6 December, simply take a picture of yourself, your children, your friends or your pets inside the illuminated Christmas present on West Street to be in with a chance of winning a family ticket to the Sweets Peas Café Christmas Party on Sunday 10 December.

Post your picture on Facebook, Instagram or X, remembering to tag @farehambc in your post. You can also email your pictures to leisure@fareham.gov.uk to be in with a chance to win.

Winners will be announced on Thursday 7 December and contacted directly.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Walker said: “The new Christmas lights look so beautiful in Fareham Town Centre and the illuminated present is really impressive. We are delighted to offer a present of our own back to Fareham residents at the award-winning children’s role play centre and fabulous café, Sweet Peas Café on West Street. You only have a week to enter so please get your pictures in by 6 December to be in with a chance to win!”
