Fareham Borough Council has approved plans to extend the existing Innovation Centre at Daedalus.
The extension will provide 3,400 square metres of new floor space, 33 new offices, five new workshops and new parking spaces. It is anticipated that 292 new job opportunities will be created with the focus on the engineering, aerospace, aviation and marine industries.
Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward said: "The extension to the successful existing Innovation Centre is great news for Daedalus and the Solent Enterprise Zone. The existing building exceeded all expectations and reached full occupancy within its first year of opening. There are many businesses that want to use space at the Centre which will enable them to prosper and grow. "
The extension is estimated to cost around £7m and due to be complete by 2018.
