The Great British Spring Clean

Fareham Borough Council is backing a campaign to get half a million people out and about cleaning up their local communities in March.

As part of its support for the country's biggest ever community clear up the Council is seeking volunteers to take part in an organised community event at Stubbington Green on Friday 3 March from 10am-3pm.

Local businesses, schools and groups, as well as the Crofton Lions, Stubbington Traders Association, Carillion and the Fareham in Bloom volunteers will all be helping out on the day. The main work will include re-planting shrub beds, litter picking the area, sweeping gullies, painting street furniture and sowing wild flowers.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Cllr Tiffany Harper said: 'The Great British Spring Clean is about everyone working together to clean up litter and give their local area a tidy up. We're delighted to be taking part and bringing people together to tackle an issue that many people care passionately about.'

Volunteers are asked to email parks@fareham.gov.uk to confirm they would like to take part. All equipment will be provided on the day.
