A consultation on the Stroud Green Allotment proposals has been rearranged following unfortunate weather conditions. The closing date for comments has also been extended.
Fareham Borough Council would like to hear your thoughts on our proposals for the provision of additional allotments on part of Stroud Green open space in Stubbington.
Stroud Green Allotments currently has 50 occupied plots and we would like to add a further 35 plots on part of the green. There are currently 77 residents on the allotment waiting list all of whom live in the Stubbington / Hill Head area. The allotments would only take up part of the open space with much of the current space remaining available to the public. There may also be opportunities for some small improvements to the open space.
Executive Member for Streetscene, Councillor Tiffany Harper, said: 'Fareham Borough Council would like to hear what residents think before proceeding with the proposals. The new allotments would allow more local residents to enjoy the benefits of allotment gardening.'
You can have your say by coming along to the consultation event which will now be held on Tuesday 20 June at Holy Rood Church from 4pm to 7pm. This event will be followed by a Community Action Team meeting from 7 to 8.30pm, where Councillor Woodward will give his annual summer update on local issues.
The closing date for comments has been extended to Monday 26 June.
The consultation can also be accessed online at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.
