Communal areas of the Council's blocks of flats and maisonettes are cleaned by an external contractor.
The areas in the main include entrance halls, stairwells, bin areas and landings.
The only exception to this being where sheltered housing schemes have sheltered housing staff working on site that clean these areas.
The general cleaning of blocks is carried out on a specified day each week.
In contrast window cleaning to communal areas of blocks is carried out every three months.
Windows to individual properties at Sheltered Housing Schemes are included in the clean; the work is again carried out by an external contractor.
If you are interested in knowing more about the work that should be undertaken where you live please contact the Tenancy Services Section on 01329 236100 or alternatively send a request by e-mail to housing@fareham.gov.uk.
