The engagement exercise took place between 25 June 2021 and 16 July 2021. Overall, 72 responses were received from a range of interested parties including regular car park users, residents living on Castle Street and coastal organisations. A large proportion of respondents requested that no charging be introduced in the two car parks.
Following analysis of the responses, a report was taken to the Executive Member for Health & Public Protection on 28 July 2021 where a delegated decision was made to adopt the Off Street Parking Places (Amendment 4) Order 2021. The Amendment Order came into effect on 28 July 2021, but was not enforced until 1 March 2022.
The full report and minutes of the delegated Executive Member decision can be found in the link above.
