In order for Solent Airport, Daedalus to continue to deliver the Council's vision to develop a vibrant and sustainable airfield whilst enabling its continued safe operation, an investment programme was agreed that will provide facilities and services to support existing airside activities and improve the airport's competitive position. This means that improvement works are taking place as part of this investment programme.
Essential improvement works to the runway and taxiways at Solent Airport commenced on Monday 10 July. Allied Infrastructure was appointed to carry out the works, which will take around eight weeks to complete.
The programme of works has been carefully scheduled to cause the minimum disruption for tenants and neighbours, with shifts in place during daylight hours from 12pm until 10pm. However, there may be a limited number of shifts that will run until midnight to allow enough time for works to be completed while the airport is closed. Any noisy activities are taking place as early in the day as possible.
