Fareham has been a Fairtrade Borough since 2007. In 2020 this status was renewed for two years because of its ongoing commitment to promoting Fairtrade principles.
The Fareham Fairtrade Steering Group is no longer operating. However, its members continue to promote Fairtrade to more community groups and businesses in the area by taking part in campaigns, including the UK-wide Fairtrade Fortnight at the end of February, by partnering with other Fairtrade campaigners in Hampshire, and by spreading the word about Fairtrade through talks and publicity.
