We're exhibiting!

Fareham Borough Council is pleased to be exhibiting for the first time at the South Coast Commercial Property Show (SCCPS)! The expo is taking place on Thursday 14 November at St Mary's Stadium in Southampton. We are there to share information about town centre regeneration, and opportunities at Daedalus, with developers and investors.

Our very own Steven Farndell, Head of Asset Management, is also speaking on a panel session called 'Collective Council Update: Vision for Sustainable Growth on the South Coast' which will offer valuable insights for people looking to invest in our region.

We look forward to meeting lots of new people on the day so please do visit our expo stand to say hello while you are there.

The team can offer guidance tailored to your organisational needs with expert advisers who can support you in workforce development.

They can work with you to create a strategic approach towards adopting apprenticeships and skills into your organisation by identifying skills gaps, establishing the most relevant apprenticeship or skills training courses, utilising available funding and building a vision for the future of skills development in your workforce. The team can also offer support to organisations who don't pay the apprenticeship levy to access surplus levy funds.

Community First logo

Why volunteering makes good business sense!

Did you know that purposeful employee volunteer programmes can boost productivity and profit as well as improving the skills, confidence and wellbeing of the volunteers themselves?

Local charity Community First organises employee volunteer programmes by matching local businesses to organisations in the voluntary sector who require support to accomplish tasks that they do not have the financial or practical resources to achieve.  This is commonly done as a team through one-off practical projects such as decorating a community building or landscaping a public garden.

Recently, a group from Insensys took part in a volunteer work party day, arranged by the Community First team, in the Borough's Holly Hill Woodland park as part of the Council's National Play Day event.  Feedback from Insensys was very positive about their volunteering experience with one expressing their pleasure at taking part – "I am thoroughly shattered today, but will happily volunteer next year with more of the Insensys team".

If you are interested in exploring corporate volunteering then please email Liza Smith, liza.smith@cfirst.org.uk to express your interest.
