Welcome to the latest edition of Fareham's Business Newsletter, published by Fareham Borough Council. Each monthly edition delivers news, support and opportunities to businesses in Fareham.

'Become a Trusted Supplier to the Council' speaker session

Hosted by Fareham Borough Council, you will be welcomed to this morning speaker sesison by the Council Executive Leader, Cllr Seàn Woodward. Come along and learn how the Council is encouraging local businesses to register to be notified of opportunities to tender, and how to do it. There will also be an overview of the support the Council provides to local businesses and you will hear from Buckland Development Ltd who are managing the build of Welborne Garden Village and keen to implement their 'Local First' policy when it comes to employment and skills. Everyone is welcome to attend this free speaker session but you must register in advance External Hyperlink. Starting at 8:15am on 23rd February, it is being held in conjunction with Fareham Business Expo at Fareham Leisure Centre. Speaker session attendees are also welcome (and encouraged) to stay for the Expo in the adjacent room when it opens at 9:30am.

Fareham College is reaching out to local employers

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week (6th-12th February), Fareham College External Hyperlink is reaching out to local employers to learn more about skills requirements. The College believes that through working with businesses, drawing on their expertise and industry knowledge, courses can be constantly reviewed to ensure they maintain a clear focus on the skills, experience and qualifications that employers want of their future workforce. Examples of partnerships include the Solent Civil Engineering Employer Group (SCEEG) to construct and develop Groundworks and Engineering Apprenticeships, and work with Giganet to deliver a bespoke field operative standard to develop future Telecoms Engineers. The College is also currently recruiting apprentices across the following sectors: Construction and Civil Engineering; Early Years; Hospitality; Digital; Business and Leadership; Hair and Beauty; Engineering and Manufacturing. Portsmouth and South Coast Business Week is on! 

'Invest, inspire, interact, inform' was the message at the Portsmouth and South Coast Business Week launch event on Monday morning. The week runs from 6th-10th February and is a festival of enterprise across various sites, providing a schedule of free business events throughout the City and region including an Open Doors day where businesses invite the public to drop in and see what they do (check schedule External Hyperlink for times). It is great to see some Fareham businesses opening their doors as part of this event on Tuesday 7th February so do go along and say hello to Fareham Innovation Centre External Hyperlink, Electrogear Fareham External Hyperlink, Glam and Grace Boutique External Hyperlink and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce External Hyperlink. Fareham Business Expo - Thursday 23rd February - Fareham Leisure Centre

With less than three weeks to go until the first ever Fareham Business Expo, now is the time to register for your free visitor ticket External Hyperlink! Organised by Everyone Active, the Expo is a fantastic event for businesses in Fareham and surrounding areas to meet new customers, connect with other businesses and explore local supply chain opportunities in a convenient, friendly atmosphere. Entry is free to visitors, there is ample free parking and there are still some great deals on exhibition space if you wanted join. Free Commercial Business Reviews for Fareham
