The Council receives a high number of Freedom of Information requests for business rates, which are often similar or identical in nature. To assist businesses and individuals who may request this information and to avoid the need to make a request, the Council publishes the following information:

The business rates records will indicate who is liable to pay the charge, not who owns the property. The ratepayer could be a leaseholder, occupier or owner;
The correspondence address is the most recent contact address held on our systems;
The Council does not include account reference numbers for reasons of security; and
Unless otherwise stated, the information will cover a financial year (April 01 – March 31)
Ratepayer's names and correspondence addresses are not provided if the ratepayer is an individual such as a partnership or sole trader as the Council considers this to be personal data. Personal data is exempt from disclosure under section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 unless one of the conditions as set out in the UK General Data Protection Regulation under Article 6 is met. The Council is satisfied that none of those conditions is met in this case.
