Deputation to meetings

A deputation allows a person or group to address a formal meeting at the Council. Anyone with a vested interested in the Council, e.g. living, working, studying or the owner of property or a business in the Fareham Borough can apply to speak at a meeting which falls within the Council's Committee Structure. The subject matter must be on a specific topic that relates to the powers and functions of the Council.

IMPORTANT:  The first step is to request to make a deputation.  This is regardless of whether you wish to speak in person, or submit a written deputation.  If you wish to make a written deputation, please do not send that written deputation until your request has been accepted.  You will be contacted to confirm your request has been accepted and to give you further information about the next stages.

Each of the 11 committee meetings has a different responsibility or function so it is important that a deputation is made to the appropriate meeting to enable your deputation to influence the subject being discussed. If you already know which meeting you would like to speak at, please click on the link below to find out more information on how to apply and the guidelines for making a deputation.

Alternatively, if you are unsure about which meeting best suits the topic that you wish to speak about or you require any further information please contact a member of Democratic Services on 01329 824581 or email democraticservices@fareham.gov.uk.
