Tell us what you would like to see in the new community |
A new community is being planned for the North of Fareham between Wickham and Fareham. It will include approximately 7,000 homes, together with businesses, schools, open spaces, and local services. The development of the new community is part of the Council's Core Strategy. |
What is the Core Strategy? |
This is the main planning document for Fareham Borough and shows how the Council, having consulted with the community, would like Fareham to develop up until 2026 and beyond. The Core Strategy was examined and found 'sound' by a Government Inspector and adopted by the Council in August 2011. |
What is the North of Fareham Area Action Plan? |
The Area Action Plan (AAP) is a planning document that will set out in more detail what the new community will be like. It will plan for things such as, where the new homes and businesses will be located how new facilities such as community centres and schools and infrastructure such as sewerage, roads and bus services will be provided. |
How can I get involved in developing the Area Action Plan? |
The AAP will have its own examination by a Government Inspector in early 2014. Before this, we would like as many people as possible to get involved and help develop the plan. This survey is the beginning of this process and we hope you will share your views with us. |
There will be more opportunities to get involved during 2012, including further surveys, exhibitions, workshops and online using the Council's website and a new Facebook page for the new community. |
In this survey we will be asking you questions about open space and recreation uses such as sports pitches, community facilities, what you would like in a new home and what you think about environmentally friendly homes and power. What you say will help us make the AAP better. |

** Ground source heat pumps use pipes buried in the ground to extract heat from the earth, which can be used to warm radiators or under floor systems or pre-heat water before it enters a traditional boiler. Air source heat pumps absorb the heat from the air outside your home and use it for warming water, radiators or under-floor heating in your home. It can also cool your house in the summer. |
