Such is the enduring interest in the lives of the Dorset men known as the Tolpuddle Martyrs, that this year the old Methodist chapel where they worshipped before they were transported to Australia was finally restored and reopened as a place for activities, exhibitions, and community use. The Martyrs lives in Dorset, Australia and, eventually, Canada have left an indelible impression of the times in which they lived and worked
