Press Release

5 February 2024

Help us make it easier for people to get the right social housing

Fareham Borough Council is proposing to update the policy that sets out how it allocates social housing in the Borough to people identified as being in housing need.

The proposed changes aim to better assist those with an identified need for social housing and to make best use of the limited social housing stock available.

Residents are invited to have their say on the proposals by completing a short survey, which can be found here: www.fareham.gov.uk/haveyoursay.

The survey can be accessed from today, 5 February 2024, until 18 March 2024.

Councillor David Foot, Executive Member for Housing, said:

“It is important that the Council ensures that a wider group of people in need of social housing are receiving assistance. I would encourage residents to give their views on the proposals before the deadline on 18 March.”

The Draft Housing Allocations Policy can be viewed here: www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations.
