Fareham gets into the festive spirit

Not long to go until Fareham's magical Christmas lights are officially switched on as part of a Victorian Christmas weekend.

Festive stalls will line the streets of Fareham on Saturday 24 November (10am – 8pm) to Sunday 25 November (10am – 6pm) for a weekend of fun.

Royal guests, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, will join The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Susan Bayford on the performance podium at 4.30pm on Sunday November 25 for the official light switch on.

Father Christmas will appear at the family friendly event, as well as fun festive activities including fair rides, free face painting, reindeer, Victorian stilt walkers and policemen on penny farthings, arts and crafts and food and drink stalls.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Sue Bell, said: "We want the whole community of Fareham to come together and get into the festive spirit. It will be a fantastic weekend for the whole family to enjoy with activities and attractions for everyone. Let's make it a Christmas to remember."
