Press Release

Vote for Fareham parks to be the nation's favourite

Two parks in Fareham have been nominated to be among the nation's favourite parks in the People's Choice Awards – but they need your vote.

Experts awarded Holly Hill Woodland Park and the Sensory Garden in Fareham prestigious Green Flag Awards in July – naming them as amongst the best in the country.

Now residents have a chance to vote for the two parks to win the People's Choice Award for being the UK's favourite parks.

So, if you enjoy visiting Holly Hill Woodland Park and the Sensory Garden for family time, to walk the dog, exercise or simply get away from the hustle and bustle, then cast your vote now.

All you have to do is go to http://www.greenflagaward.org.uk/award-winners/ External Hyperlink to find your favourite park on the winners' map and click the voting button.

Executive Member for Streetscene at Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Simon Martin, said: "We are so proud of our parks and it would be great if our residents all voted so we could get some national recognition for these wonderful green areas."

Voting has already opened and closes on 30 September, with the top 10 sites being announced on 16 October.

Paul Todd, Green Flag Award Manager said: "The People's Choice award is a chance to show how much your favourite park means to you. If it's worth shouting about, make your voice heard and vote now."
