Press Release

22 August 2018

Get your gardens ready for spring!

Bags of free orange flowered daffodil bulbs will be given away to Fareham residents as part of our 'In Bloom' activities programme. An estimated four million bulbs have been planted since the initiative began 27 years ago.

The bulbs will be available from St Margaret's Nursery in Titchfield from Wednesday 5 September to Friday 21 September.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Councillor Simon Martin, said: "This well-established initiative is a wonderful opportunity for residents to work together to ensure our Borough is one to be proud of. I would encourage all residents to get involved and help get community green spaces ready for spring!"

The bulbs must be planted within the community for the benefit of others to see. Proof of residency is required when collecting the bulbs and only two bags per person will be permitted.

Following this a planting workshop will be held on Thursday 11 October when residents will get the chance to learn how to plant a selection of unusual bulbs.

This free event is being held at Westbury Manor Garden, West Street at 1.30pm.
