Press Release

11 January 2017

Last chance to nominate your local heroes

Time is running out to nominate your very own hero for a Citizen or Young Citizen of Honour Award. The closing date for nominations is 31 January 2018.

Fareham Borough Council runs the awards every year to honour and recognise residents who have made a difference to the lives of local people.

There are three age categories; 4-11 years, 12-17 years and 18+. Nominations can be for showing outstanding bravery, volunteering, raising money for charity, helping others at school or college or anything that you consider to be amazing.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said: "These awards recognise local heroes who have made a real difference to their community, friends or family. I would encourage anyone who may know a local hero to nominate them for this worthy award."

Winners will receive VIP invitations to some of the Mayor's events throughout the year. They will also each receive a family ticket for the Gala Performance of the Pantomime held at Ferneham Hall, as well as £15 in vouchers for our Young Citizen of Honour winners.

Those who are nominated must be a resident within the Fareham Borough and you can't nominate a family member.

For more information and to nominate please visit www.fareham.gov.uk/citizenawards or contact the Communications Team on 01329 236100.
