Press Release

17 October 2017

Scrutiny Board Meeting

The Council's Scrutiny Board will meet on Monday 23 October at 2.30pm, to decide whether to accept the Executive's decision to send the Draft Local Plan out for public consultation.

This follows the Executive meeting on October 9 when the new Draft Local Plan was agreed for consultation.

The Scrutiny Board can either accept that decision or ask the Executive to review it again.

If the Scrutiny Board does refer the decision back to the Executive, the Executive will meet on Tuesday 24 October at 6pm at the Civic Offices, Fareham. This meeting will not take place if the Scrutiny Board accepts the Executive's decision.

Councillor Seán Woodward, Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said:

"The purpose of the Scrutiny Board is to monitor and review the decisions of the Executive. Residents are welcome to attend this meeting to listen to proceedings and there is also the opportunity for them to have their say if they wish to do so."

If members of the public would like to speak at this meeting (make a deputation), they must let the Council know by midday on Thursday 19 October. To notify us about making a deputation or for more information about the process, please contact Democratic Services on 01329 824594 or email democraticservices@fareham.gov.uk

The decision of the Scrutiny Board will be published on the Council's website following the meeting.
