Press Release

10 January 2022

Still time to nominate your Citizen of Honour

Fareham residents are reminded that there is still time to nominate their heroes for the Fareham Borough Council Citizen of Honour campaign.

For 2022 there are two categories: The Young Citizen of Honour Award for residents up to and including 17 years of age and, The Citizen of Honour Award for those aged 18 and over.

The deadline for nominations is 23:59 on Monday 31 January 2022.  You cannot nominate family members and those nominated must live in Fareham and have made a difference to the lives of local people.  There will be one winner in each category and details of prizes and how to enter can be found on the Council’s website: www.fareham.gov.uk/COH

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said: ‘I urge Fareham residents to nominate their local heroes for a Citizen of Honour Award. It could be for anything from helping others at school or college to showing outstanding bravery; from looking after the local environment to coping with a life changing event. We have some truly wonderful people in Fareham, so if you can think of someone who has done something amazing that deserves recognition, then make sure you nominate.’

Nominations for those who have previously received a Citizen of Honour, or Covid Hero Award, will be discounted unless the new nomination is for something completely unrelated. Remember, they must live in the Borough of Fareham and can't be a family member!
