7 January 2020

It’s not the final curtain…it’s an extended intermission!

Ferneham Hall has now closed and will remain so for up to two years to allow a major remodelling project to take place.

The closure sets the ball rolling on an exciting vision to create a brand new community, arts and entertainment venue for the town, offering something for everyone.

Ferneham Hall was first opened in 1982 and has been looking tired and dated. The £12.35m investment from the Council will see it totally transformed with improved seating in the main auditorium, a secondary performance space, new bar and café area, a dance studio and space for community groups and organisations. The Council’s Executive Committee endorsed the plans at a meeting last night (6 January).

Cllr Sue Bell, Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, said: “This is the beginning of an exciting project to deliver a fantastic new facility which Fareham can be proud of. The new venue will be a hub of activity with space for community groups, cinema screenings, a dance studio, clubs, exhibitions and conferences. I’m looking forward to seeing how the transformation progresses in the coming months.”

When the replacement venue opens, it will be managed by BH Live on the Council’s behalf. You can find out more about the project and see the proposed designs on our website at http://www.fernehamhall.co.uk/
