Let’s Talk Polling Places

Fareham Borough Council has today launched a consultation asking residents to have their say on their polling places, following the recent elections.

The Council is committed to ensuring that accessibility considerations are taken into account for voters at every polling station. This statutory review, which the Council is required to run every five years, aims to make sure that all residents eligible to vote continue to have access to reasonable facilities to do so.

The Council is inviting the views of all residents on their designated polling place.  It is particularly interested in seeking feedback on the accessibility of the polling places for electors with both physical and hidden disabilities.

Residents and local disability groups are encouraged to complete this short online survey, which will run until 5 June 2024:

Cllr Mrs Bryant, Chairman of the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Committee, said: “Following such exciting local elections recently, we are keen to ensure that our polling places are accessible for all. I encourage residents to have their say in this consultation to let us know what they think so we can continue to make improvements for the next elections.”
