Lighting up Westbury Manor Museum for COVID-19 Day of Reflection

Fareham Borough Council will be marking the COVID-19 Day of Reflection on Sunday 3 March by lighting up Westbury Manor Museum in yellow.

The Day of Reflection is a time where people are encouraged to come together to remember those who died during the COVID-19 outbreak, when many people were unable to grieve properly for their loved ones.

This year marks the fourth Day of Reflection held by Marie Curie. Residents are invited to show their support for the day on 3 March by holding a minute’s silence, making time for a reflective moment or sharing the name of a person they are remembering on a yellow petal. Petals can be downloaded from Marie Curie’s website here: https://dayofreflection.org.uk/share-a-name/.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Seán Woodward, said:

“I am pleased that Westbury Manor Museum will be lit up in yellow to remember those who lost their lives during, and because of, the pandemic. It is a day of commemoration as well as a time to support those who are bereaved. I encourage residents to take a moment to reflect in a way that is most meaningful for them.”
