Press Release

15 February 2024

Successful networking event returns to Fareham

Fareham Borough Council is pleased to announce the return of business-to-business and networking event, Fareham Business Expo, to Fareham Leisure Centre on Thursday 22 February 2024.

A highlight of the popular Portsmouth and South Coast Business week, this year’s Expo comprises an exhibition featuring around 40 local companies, and includes a comprehensive speaker programme from 10am. The series of 45-minute sessions commences with European Space Agency’s Business Applications Ambassador, followed by The Protect Alliance (UK), Southeast Regional Defence and Security Cluster (SERDSC), HR Dept Solent and Solent University.

The Council is once again partnering with Everyone Active to deliver this year’s event following last year’s successful launch. Deputy Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Simon Martin, will officially open the event at 9.30am.

Councillor Seán Woodward, Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, said:

“Fareham Business Expo is a fantastic opportunity for local business owners to network with other businesses and suppliers, and take inspiration from our carefully selected speakers. If you are looking to empower your business and benefit from the various organisations and speakers all under one roof, this is the event for you.”

Fareham Borough Council is also pleased to welcome The Protect Alliance (UK) to the Expo, a not-for-profit organisation devoted to Martyn's Law which was introduced in the wake of the terrorist attack on Manchester Arena. Fareham Borough Council is keen that local businesses are provided with the opportunity to stay up to date with the legislation which, when passed, will require those responsible for certain premises and events that bring together 100 or more members of the public to consider the terrorist risk and how they would respond. By working with The Protect Alliance (UK), the Council will help keep local businesses informed on how the legislation is progressing and the resources available to support those affected in Fareham.

Attendees at the Fareham Business Expo can visit a Protect Zone, where a number of organisations, including The Protect Alliance (UK), will provide specialist information and advice on preparing for Martyn’s Law.

It is free to attend the Expo, but visitors are advised to pre-register online in order to avoid queues. Places can be reserved here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/fareham-business-expo-2024-tickets-749133617817.
