Westbury Manor Museum to be lit blue for World Parkinson’s Day

Fareham Borough Council will be marking World Parkinson’s Day on 11 April by working with Hampshire Cultural Trust to light Westbury Manor Museum in blue.

World Parkinson’s Day takes place on 11 April every year to raise awareness of the fastest growing neurological condition in the world.

Everyone with Parkinson’s has their own set of symptoms, which they deal with in very different ways. This World Parkinson's Day looks to celebrate moments of laughter and light along the way. Lighting up Westbury Manor Museum therefore provides a fitting gesture to help raise awareness.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said:

“We are very proud to be supporting World Parkinson’s Day. In 2022, over 170 buildings were lit up around the country and I am delighted that Westbury Manor Museum will be one of those taking part this year. I hope that even more buildings, attractions, and iconic destinations will take part this year to help raise awareness. Residents can also get involved by decorating or lighting their own windows at home.”
