Press Release

6 December 2022

Last chance to have your say on Local Plan

Fareham Borough Council is reminding residents to have their say on recent modifications to the Local Plan.

An independent inspector assessed the soundness and legal compliance of the Local Plan, and proposed a list of amendments, known as the ‘Main Modifications’. A consultation launched on the 31 October sought resident views on these modifications and this will end on 12 December.

You can take part in the consultation and view the main modifications and supporting documents in full at: www.fareham.gov.uk/localplanconsultation

The consultation will be available until 12 December 2022 and paper copies can also be obtained during opening hours at the Fareham Borough Council Civic Offices and in local libraries.

Executive Member for Planning and Development Cllr Simon Martin said: “I would urge anyone who is interested in our Local Plan to have a look at the recent modifications made by the inspector and have your say on the changes. The Local Plan is how we allocate space for housing, employment opportunities, transport infrastructure and leisure and community facilities - shaping the future of the Borough until 2037. I encourage residents and businesses to take part and have their say in the consultation.”
