Countryside events for autumn fun!

Fareham Borough Council’s Countryside Service is running countryside events for local residents this autumn.

As we creep closer to Halloween, families are invited to create and dress a scarecrow at our Scary Scarecrows event at Abbey Meadows on 27 October. There are two sessions taking place, one at 10am and the other at 1.30pm, with prizes for the most original or decorative scarecrow. Entries cost £2 and there is a limit of 12 entries per session.

For a more festive activity, come along to a Willow Wreath Making session at United Reform Church on 8 December, where you can use meadow and hedgerow material to decorate your own wreath in time for Christmas. Tickets are £20 per person and spaces are limited to 15.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Councillor Ian Bastable, said:

“I am delighted that our Countryside Service team is holding these events this autumn. They not only teach fun and useful skills but get people together from different parts of the community. I encourage people to book their places quickly, while spaces are still available.”

Tickets are available for our countryside events by calling 01329 824850. More information can be found on our website: https://www.fareham.gov.uk/leisure/out_and_about_in_fareham/countrysideevents.aspx.
