Still time to make your home more energy efficient

In 2021 Fareham Borough Council teamed up with City Energy, to offer residents across the Borough FREE home energy improvements of up to £10,000.

Fareham Borough Council is pleased to announce that the deadline for applications to this programme has been extended until 31 March 2022.

Residents who receive income related benefits or have a household income of less than £30,000 a year could be eligible for home improvements such as solar panels or new insulation.

This programme has been made possible by a Government funding scheme to deliver sustainable warmth, reduce household energy bills and support the phasing out of fossil fuel heating as part of the Government’s commitment to be carbon neutral by 2050.

Executive Member for Planning and Development, Cllr Simon Martin commented: “Fareham Borough Council is delighted that this programme has been extended so that even more Fareham households can benefit from free home improvements. The Council has committed to become Carbon Neutral by 2030 and this will allow residents to not only play their part in reducing the environmental impact of the Borough, but also drive down their household energy bills. I would urge residents who meet the income criteria to fill in an application.”
