Press Release

24 August 2021

Garden waste service operating as usual

Fareham Borough Council is pleased to inform residents that the garden waste collection service is currently operating normally.

The Council has done everything it can to ensure that disruption has been kept to a minimum and apologises for the inconvenience to residents.  The two-day suspension of garden waste collection was due to key members of staff being affected by the pandemic. This option was considered less disruptive than to suspend any of the core waste and recycling collections.

While services are currently running as normal, residents are reminded that the Council is still operating during a pandemic and experiencing the effects of COVID-19. This means that, at any time, we may not have enough staff to operate our services, but we will do everything possible to ensure that residents are kept informed.

Service updates will be posted on the Council’s website and on social media so residents are advised to check before they put out their garden waste sacks for collection.
