Press Release

Virtual Fareham in Bloom – deadline extended!

Due to the extended spell of wet weather in June, the deadline for entries to our virtual Fareham in Bloom competition has been extended by a week.

Gardeners now have until Friday 9 July to submit their entries. This will allow more time to make use of the more settled conditions which are forecast.

Entrants simply need to email a photograph of their garden and a brief description to fib@fareham.gov.uk.

For those who have already submitted their entries, these are being processed ready for when voting starts.

The competition has six different categories:

Executive Member for Streetscene at Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Ian Bastable, said: “We know the weather hasn’t been particularly kind to gardeners so far this summer, so we wanted to allow more time for residents to prepare their entries. We’ve looked at the forecast and it is set to improve over the next week, so if you’ve got an open space or feature to be proud of, now is your chance to show it off!”
