Tell us how you’d like Metcalfe play area improved

Children are being asked how they would like Metcalfe play area in Stubbington to be improved.

The play area is set to be upgraded as part of the Council’s five-year improvement programme for play areas across the borough. Families are being encouraged to go online and vote for their favourite pieces of new equipment.

Youngsters are being asked whether they would like to keep the existing trim trail equipment, or replace it with either a large multi-climbing unit or two smaller items of equipment which could be a climbing wall, inclusive roundabout, buddy board rocker or a standing springie. Residents will also be able to give their comments and ideas as to how else they would like to see the play area improved.

Votes can be cast at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations between Wednesday 4 November – Wednesday 2 December.

Works to the play area is expected to begin in autumn 2021.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: “It’s important that we get the views of local children and young people to ensure the play area is improved to a good standard and can be enjoyed for years to come, so please do go online and have your say.”
