Council to hold its first ever virtual Full Council meeting

Fareham Borough Council will hold its first ever virtual Full Council meeting tomorrow (Thursday 23rd July).

The meeting starts at 6.00pm and will be held using Microsoft Teams.

A number of smaller committee meetings have been held virtually, but this will be the first time all councillors have met this way. Government guidelines on social distancing mean it is not possible for the Full Council to meet at the Civic Offices.

Items on the agenda include an announcement from the Executive Leader in which he intends to provide an update on the Local Plan.

Members of the public who wish to join the virtual meeting can do so via this link and by clicking on ‘view this meeting here’.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said:

“Since the start of this crisis we have had to adapt how we do things to allow our democratic processes to continue.

We are all having to do things differently in these unprecedented times and this will be a first for Fareham Borough Council. I’m pleased that we can use technology to meet in this way, allowing us to continue to consider the important issues in Borough while at the same time giving our residents the opportunity to see and hear the debate."
