Who’s your Fareham hero?

Fareham Borough Council is asking residents to tell us about their heroes by nominating them for a Citizen or Young Citizen of Honour Award 2020.

The Council runs the awards every year to honour and recognise residents who have made a difference to the lives of local people. There are two age categories; under 18s and 18+.

Previous winners have been nominated for bravery, helping others at school or college, coping with something life changing, volunteering, helping the local environment or caring for an individual.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said: "We're asking residents to nominate their very own hero. This could be someone who has been caring for an individual with a debilitating condition or someone who gives unpaid voluntary service to the community. No matter what it is, we want to hear about it, so we can give local heroes the recognition they deserve.”

Each winner will receive invitations to:

To nominate your hero either fill out our nomination form online, call the Communications Team on 01329 824310 or email publicity@fareham.gov.uk.

Those nominated must be a resident in the Fareham Borough and, if you are nominating someone, you can't be a family member.

The deadline for nominations is Friday 31 January 2020. The Executive Members of the Council will then decide who the winners are at their meeting in March.
