Residents invited to public meeting

A special Community Action Team (CAT) meeting is being held to update residents on measures taken to address drug misuse, rough sleeping and anti-social behaviour in Fareham town centre.

Fareham Borough Council has been working with the police, community groups and agencies after residents raised concerns at a public meeting in June.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 15 October in the Solent Room of Ferneham Hall from 6pm to 7.30pm. It will bring together the Council, police, schools, support agencies who deal with housing need and substance misuse, community groups and residents.

A number of changes have already taken place to make the town centre a safer place since the last meeting including:

Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Seán Woodward, said: “We want residents to know that we take their concerns seriously and will update them on what action has been taken and what our future plans are.

“We also want residents to work with us by giving us their ideas and opinions, so we can all work together and support individuals to make positive changes in their lives. We hope to see as many residents as possible at this meeting, as we strive to make Fareham a safer place to live for all of us.”
