New play equipment for Locks Heath children

Children are being given a choice of new items of play equipment which will be installed in a Locks Heath play area.

Parents are being asked to go online with their children and vote for their favourite three pieces of equipment as part of a refurbishment of Locks Heath House Park.

The proposed equipment list is:

An online poll has been set up at www.fareham.gov.uk/consultations for votes to be cast between Monday 30 September and Monday 28 October. People will also be able to give their views on how else they would like the play area to be improved.

Local schools, community centres and youth services closest to the play area will be contacted by the Council as part of the public consultation.

Improvements to the play area on St Johns Road and Locks Heath Park Road will also include new floor graphics and games, inclusive picnic benches and the existing equipment will be re-painted.

The equipment is being upgraded as part of the Council’s five-year improvement plan for play areas across the Borough and work is expected to begin around autumn 2020.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: “We’re delighted to be able to give our younger residents some new play equipment and want them to decide what they want in their play area.

“We currently have four consultations running about different play areas and I would urge residents to go online and have their say.”
