Press Release

19 June 2019

Meet your local heroes at 999 Day in Fareham

Come and meet the local heroes of Fareham at the annual 999 Day on Saturday 29 June in Fareham Town Centre.

The police, paramedics, air ambulance, fire service, RNLI, The Inshore Rescue Team, Fareham Community Responders and the Coastguard will be at the West Street free event to talk to residents about the work of the emergency services.

Emergency vehicles, old and new, will be on display at the event between 10am and 4pm and there will be a chance to sit in some vehicles and try on uniforms.

Children will also be able to have their faces painted and go on a free bouncy castle at the family friendly event.

Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Sue Bell, said: “This is the perfect chance to meet and talk to the emergency services about the wonderful work they do to keep our communities safe. The event will also be a fun day out for all the family and an opportunity for children to meet their real-life heroes.”

For more information about this event please contact the Leisure and Community Team 01329 236100 or email leisure@fareham.gov.uk.

If you own an emergency vehicle or are part of an emergency service team and would like to have a stand at the event, please contact the Leisure and Community Team.

Events like this help bring visitors to Fareham Town Centre, giving an important boost to local trade. Last year approximately 6000 people attended our town centre events.
