The Great British Spring Clean is back!

Volunteers are being asked to join the Great British Spring Clean, which encourages communities to work together to clean up their local area.

Residents in the Fareham Borough are invited to organise their own litter picks in their street, park and community space, as part of the national campaign.

In Lincoln Close, Locks Heath, people can come along to help replant shrub beds, pick up litter and repair benches on 4 April between 10am and 2pm, outside the sheltered housing premises.

Fareham in Bloom volunteers, Fareham Borough Council staff members, and members of the local community will take part in the event.

As part of the Great British Spring Clean campaign, the Council is also offering litter pickers, bags to fill up with rubbish and will also collect all the refuse gathered.

Executive Member for Streetscene, Cllr Simon Martin, said: "The Great British Spring Clean Spring is a fantastic opportunity to come together and improve our Borough.

“If anyone would like litter picks and bags for the event, please do get in touch to let the Council know what you’re doing – this is going to be a fantastic community event.”

To volunteer simply send an email over to parks@fareham.gov.uk or call the Parks Team on 01329 236100.
